As we celebrate five years of ministry, we pause to reflect on the vision God has entrusted us as Glorious Church, reminding ourselves of the divine mandate He has given us: to be a house where the saints grow into maturity of the faith and lives are transformed for the better. Proverbs 29:18 teaches us that ”where there is no vision, the people perish,” so we take this time to remember what the Lord has spoken over us, trusting that His grace is sufficient to carry us from glory to another (2 Corinthians 3:18). Habakkuk 2:2 instructs us to “write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it.” The vision must be clear and singular, so that everyone knows what they are partnering with. Only then can we run with this vision together in unity – not each pursuing personal agendas or bringing strange fire (Leviticus 10:1) – but moving in one Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:13; Ephesians 4:4; Philippians 1:27). In accordance with this, we revisit our core beliefs and values as a church.
First, we do the Word. We put a premium on God’s Word and are guided by Scripture in all we do. The Word is our foundation and primary instrument of transformation. As Romans 12:2 declares, “do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” We do not merely hear the Word – we build our lives upon it. Second, we believe life is spiritual. We acknowledge the full operation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:8-10), which are given for our growth, edification, and effectiveness in ministry. Third, discipleship is our strategy. We do not stop at converts – we make disciples, because church is not about numbers, but transformation. Disciples are disciplined, accountable, and submitted to the tutelage of the Word (John 8:31). Our Life Groups are central to this mandate. The DNA of a Glorious disciple is clear: faithful, available, and teachable. As Apostle Paul instructed Timothy, “the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also” (2 Timothy 2:2). Saints, discipleship is not easy, but it is necessary. It requires humility and openness to correction. Scripture reminds us that the Lord corrects those He loves (Proverbs 3:12; Hebrews 12:6); not to punish, but to train us in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16). Correction is evidence of sonship, not rejection. Fourth, community matters. We are a spiritual family, and God has brought us together for a purpose. The people, and relationships, assigned for our growth and destiny are found within this community, but we must discern and value them. Lastly, generosity is key. Saints, we must learn to steward finances without fear, knowing that God is our ultimate source. We are called to excel in the grace of giving (2 Corinthians 8:7), because it is an act of worship, and strengthens our ability to trust God — not only for provision, but for health, breakthrough, deliverance, and much more. Giving calibrates our hearts toward God, because “where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matthew 6:21).
At the center of our vision is the Glorious Message: transformation through God’s Word. This transformation unfolds through the 3P’s – position, perspective, practice. Position speaks to identity – what is true about you, what is true about God, and what Christ has accomplished. Ephesians 1:3 declares that we are already blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ. This is positional truth, and although nothing can change it, we must meditate on it until it becomes our lived reality. When we understand our position in Christ, circumstances lose their power to define us. Genesis 39:2 declares that Joseph was a successful and prosperous man even in slavery, because the Lord was with him. Perspective is the lens through which we interpret life. It is shaped by revelation of God’s Word, which was written for our learning (Romans 15:4). When light comes, conviction follows, and we walk boldly into everything God purposed for us. The right position and right perspective produce the right practice. The Word is not for hearing only – it is for doing (James 1:22). If we desire true and lasting transformation, we must work the Word daily. We are Glorious Church: Guided by the Word, Genuine in Love, and Global in Mission.
Prayer
Father, we thank You for the vision You have entrusted to this house. Help us to grow into maturity, that we may run with this vision in unity. Strengthen us in prayer and in Your Word, so that we may exercise dominion and faithfully fulfill our assignment on the earth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
